Safety is our priority
VL3 aircraft is certified and tested in collaboration with the Czech Aerospace Institute. The VL3 was successfully tested to ultimate loads up to +15G’s and -8G’s.
The VL3 is free of flutter up to 248 knots. However, due to our rescue system (parachute) our VNE is limited to 165 knots. The rescue system can be activated at any speed up to 165 knots. Nevertheless, the VL3 was tested in flight at much higher speeds.
The maximum speed in gusty conditions is limited to 127 knots, because safety is our priority. At 127 knots we have still a safety margin of 300%. That means that if you fly at 127 knots and experience a gust of 29 knots you will stress the plane with +5G’s. As we have a maximum loading of +15G’s on the VL3, you remain well within the safety margin.
To increase safety, the VL3 can be equipped with a TCAS
(Traffic alert and Collision Avoidance). When other traffic enters your vicinity you will receive a visual and audio alert to your EFIS and headset.
Also, an ELT ( Emergency locator transmitter) can be
installed in the VL3. The ELT transmits a signal allowing search and rescue services to find you in the event of a forced landing.
The optional Garmin GMC 307/507 autopilot control unit features the level mode button, for added safety. The LVL mode button commands automatic recovery from steep or unusual attitudes, prompting the autopilot to return the aircraft to straight and level flight.
The AOA indicator provides you with visual and audio alerts when approaching the critical angle of attack before reaching a stall.
During the lamination process for carbon fiber and kevlar parts, we use only certified resin and bonding agents. Also all fasteners, cables and wiring harnesses are aviation certified.
The VL3 has type certificates in The Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium, France, Norway, Portugal, Poland, The Baltic States, South Africa, USA, Italy, Slovakia, Turkey, Hungary and Romania. VL3 is eligible to be registered in Canada. New type certificates are in process for Israel, Australia, New Zealand and Spain.
